US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and reiterated the new US administration's commitment to an independent and secure Lebanon.
Siniora said that he told Clinton that a new vision for the region was critical, and that the end of Israeli occupation [of all Arab lands] and the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state, in line with the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative, were bother needed.
