House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen Leads Congressional Delegation in Visit to Lebanon

By U.S. Embassy Beirut | 19 October, 2017 - Representative Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ), Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee (HAC), led a Congressional delegation visit to Lebanon on October 16-19.  Representative Frelinghuysen was joined by fellow HAC member, Representative Henry Cuellar (D-TX).  During the visit, the delegation met with Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces General Joseph Aoun.  They discussed the effectiveness of U.S. military assistance to Lebanon.  The delegation visited Hamat Air Base and observed the newly-arrived M2A2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles and the A-29 Super Tucano aircraft provided by the United States.  In their meetings, Representatives Frelinghuysen and Cuellar reinforced the United States intention to maintain a strong partnership with the people and institutions of Lebanon and the importance of Lebanon's security, stability, and prosperity.
